Pool Cleaning Service in Grand Lagoon, FL

Canal and lagoon front homes where every house has a dock and most have a boat. Tight pads, salt air, and pools that get used hard.

Pool cleaning and maintenance in Grand Lagoon

What is actually different about servicing a pool here, and how we work around it.

Grand Lagoon is boats. The streets run down to the water, nearly every house has a dock behind it, and the marinas keep the sport fishing fleet a few minutes away. The pools here get used the way you would expect. People come in off the water, rinse the worst of it off, and get straight in. Salt water, sand and sunscreen all end up in the pool, and together they load a filter far faster than anything a tree manages.

The pads are the other half of it. On a canal lot the equipment sits maybe twenty feet from brackish water in a side yard barely wide enough to stand in, so it corrodes early and there is no room to work around it. Attached spas are more common here than anywhere else we run, which means more on the pad that can fail and more money involved when it does. A couple of minutes on the equipment every week is what stops that becoming a Friday phone call.

The lay of the land

Grand Lagoon is the canal and lagoon front behind the beach, where the streets run down to the water, nearly every house has a dock, and the marinas keep the sport fishing fleet a few minutes away.

The pools here

Pools squeezed between the house and the seawall on canal lots, a lot of them at second homes and rentals, with attached spas more common here than anywhere else we run.

What we watch for

What comes out of the water and in off it. A pad twenty feet from brackish water corrodes early, and swimmers arriving straight off a boat bring salt water, sand and sunscreen in with them, which loads a filter far faster than anything a tree does.

Access and scheduling

Narrow side yards between the house and the dock, and gates that are usually coded. We walk gear in, we keep the dock clear, and we work around the boat rather than asking anyone to move it.

Questions

Pool cleaning in Grand Lagoon, answered

Common questions from Grand Lagoon pool owners.

Everyone gets in straight off the boat. Does that actually matter?

It does, mostly at the filter. Sunscreen, body oil, salt water and the sand people carry in all end up in the same place, and a loaded filter runs at higher pressure and stops filtering properly long before anybody notices the water looks dull. We clean filters here more often than the schedule a manual would give you, and we watch pressure every week rather than monthly.

We have a spa on the pool. Do you clean that too?

Yes. We clean hot tubs and attached spas, and the spa equipment gets looked over on every weekly visit. On the lagoon, salt air takes the worst toll on anything metal at the pad, so catching corrosion early is the difference between a quick fix and a replacement.

How often should the filter be cleaned on a pool used this hard?

By pressure, not by calendar. Once it climbs eight to ten psi above where it sits clean, it needs doing, and on a busy lagoon pool that comes around a lot sooner than most owners expect. We clean cartridge, sand and DE filters, and we will tell you where yours is sitting each week so it never becomes a surprise.

Is a salt system a bad idea this close to the water?

Not a bad idea, but worth going in with your eyes open. Salt cells have a service life anywhere, and a pad already sitting in salt air gets corrosion on the fittings and the cabinet around it as well. Plenty of Grand Lagoon pools run salt happily. We will tell you what yours is likely to cost to keep going rather than talking you into a system or out of one.
