Pool Equipment Maintenance
Your equipment pad gets maintained on every weekly visit, so a failing pump or a worn part is caught while it is still cheap.
Maintained weekly, and told to you straight
Equipment maintenance is part of the weekly visit rather than an upsell waiting to happen.
The bad moment in pool ownership is a pump quitting on a Friday afternoon. Most of the time it did not quit that afternoon. It had been screaming for three weeks, or losing prime on a hot day, or running hot enough that you could not hold a hand on the motor. Those are the things somebody notices when they were standing at the same pad seven days ago, and they are the reason the pad is on the weekly checklist.
What happens next is simple. You get told plainly what is wrong and whether the equipment is worth keeping, and what you do next is your call. If it needs a repair or a replacement, that work is done by our licensed partner, Florida Discount Pool Supply LLC (CPC1461310), never by Goodies.
On the beach side, in Panama City Beach, Laguna Beach and Grand Lagoon, salt air off the Gulf shortens the life of everything on the pad. Salt cells, pump housings, unions and every piece of exposed metal have a harder life there than the same unit in Youngstown or Southport, which is why the weekly look matters more the closer you are to the water.
Pumps
The most common failure on a pad here, and the most over-sold replacement in the business.
- Pump basket emptied every visit
- Lid o-ring kept clean and seated
- Loss of prime and air leaks spotted
- Noisy or hot motors flagged
- Whether variable speed would actually pay on your pool
Filters and salt systems
Pressure problems, short cycles, and cells that have stopped producing chlorine.
- Filter pressure read every visit
- Filters cleaned and backwashed as needed
- Cracked housings and manifolds spotted
- Salt cells cleaned and checked
- Low salt and low flow faults identified
Water level, skimmers and returns
The parts that keep water moving through everything else.
- Water level kept at the skimmer
- Skimmer weir and lid checked
- Returns flowing properly
- Pressure read against the clean baseline
- Anything off flagged the same day
Valves, plumbing and the rest
The parts of the pad nobody thinks about until they quit.
- Leaks and weeping joints spotted
- Valves turned and checked
- Timers and run times checked
- Lights that have stopped working flagged
- Debris and ants cleared from the pad
Why Bay County pool owners call Goodies
Four things you can hold us to, on this job and every one after it.
Maintenance, not upsells
The pad gets looked after on every visit because that is what keeps it running, not to find something to sell you.
Told the same day
Anything wrong at the pad is flagged the day it is seen, alongside the readings you already get by email after every visit, not saved up until the pump finally quits.
Found before it seizes
The cheapest outcome is always the one caught on a weekly visit. A seal and a bearing noticed early is a different conversation from a motor that has already cooked.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions from Bay County pool owners.
Which equipment brands do you look after?
Whatever is on your pad. Pentair, Jandy and Hayward cover most of what sits on pads around Panama City, and every brand gets the same weekly maintenance and the same straight answer on whether it is worth keeping.
What if my equipment stops working?
A screaming pump or a salt cell that has stopped making chlorine: call Goodies first. We will find out what is wrong, tell you plainly what it needs, and get you to the right fix. Repairs are performed by our licensed partner, Florida Discount Pool Supply LLC (CPC1461310), not by Goodies.
Do I have to be a weekly service customer?
No. Plenty of route customers started with a single call about a pump that was making a noise. If you are not on the route we will still come and look and tell you plainly what it is.
Why does equipment fail faster near the water?
Salt air. In Panama City Beach, Laguna Beach and Grand Lagoon it carries in off the Gulf and works on salt cells, pump housings, unions and anything metal on the pad. The same unit in Youngstown or Southport gets an easier life. Rinsing the equipment down with fresh water now and then genuinely helps.
How soon can somebody look at it?
Goodies runs Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and equipment visits get worked into the route already running that day. If your pump has quit outright, call rather than fill in a form and you will get an honest answer on the soonest realistic visit.
Ready to sort out your equipment maintenance?
Tell us about your pool and we will give you a straight price and a start date, usually the same day you call.
