Saltwater Pool Service
Weekly service built for salt pools across Panama City and Bay County: the salt level tested, the salt cell cleaned and checked, and the water balanced so the cell can actually make chlorine.
A salt cell makes chlorine, nothing else
Salt pools feel softer and spare you hauling jugs of chlorine, but they are not maintenance free. The cell does one job, and it does it badly when the rest of the water is out of range.
A salt system turns dissolved salt into chlorine as water runs through the cell. That is all it does. It does nothing for pH, alkalinity, stabilizer or calcium, and a salt pool tends to push its pH up week after week. Left alone, high pH scales the plates, a scaled cell makes less chlorine, and the pool starts to cloud over while the control panel insists everything is fine.
So a salt pool gets the same full water test as any other pool, plus the salt level measured with its own meter rather than read off the panel, and the cell itself cleaned and checked. In Panama City Beach, Laguna Beach and Grand Lagoon, where salt air also works on the equipment from the outside, that weekly look at the pad counts for even more.
Salt level tested
Measured at the pool, not trusted from the control panel.
- Salt read with its own meter
- Checked against what the panel claims
- Topped up to the range the cell wants
- Heavy rain and refills accounted for
- Logged with the rest of your readings
Salt cell cleaned
Scale on the plates is the most common reason a salt pool stops holding chlorine.
- Cell inspected for scale and debris
- Scale cleaned off the plates
- Plates checked for wear
- Chlorine output checked afterwards
- Cleaning interval set for your water
Water balanced for salt
The parts of the chemistry a salt cell cannot touch.
- pH brought back down as it climbs
- Alkalinity set so the pH holds
- Stabilizer set a little higher for salt
- Calcium kept low enough not to scale
- Chlorine confirmed, not assumed
Low chlorine on a salt pool
When the panel says it is working and the water says otherwise.
- Low salt or low flow flagged
- Dirty filter ruled out first
- Scaled cell found and cleaned
- Output setting matched to the season
- Told plainly if the cell is near its end
Why Bay County pool owners call Goodies
Four things you can hold us to, on this job and every one after it.
Tested, not assumed
Control panels drift and cells wear out. The salt and the chlorine get measured at the pool on every visit, whatever the display says.
You see the numbers
Your readings and what went in come to you after the visit, salt level included, so a slow drift shows up before it turns into a cloudy pool.
Your day holds
Same day every week. A salt pool rewards routine more than most, because pH creeps up steadily between visits.
It is our family
A family owned and operated business, not a rotating crew. We know your pool, your cell and what the water did last month.
Saltwater Pool Service by location
We provide saltwater pool service across every area on our weekly route.
What our customers say
Every one of these is on our Google profile, word for word, with the reviewer’s name on it.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions from Bay County pool owners.
Does a salt pool still need chemicals?
Yes. The cell makes the chlorine, but the pH, alkalinity, stabilizer and calcium still need looking after, and salt pools usually need acid added regularly to hold the pH down. A salt pool that is not balanced makes chlorine poorly and scales its own cell.
How often should a salt cell be cleaned?
It depends on the water. High pH and high calcium scale a cell quickly, and balanced water keeps it clean for much longer. We look at the cell on every visit and clean it when the plates show scale, rather than on a fixed calendar that suits nobody.
Why is my salt pool cloudy when the panel says it is fine?
Because the panel only knows what its own sensors tell it. Low salt, low flow from a dirty filter, a scaled cell or an output set too low for August all leave the pool short of chlorine while the display looks normal. Testing the water directly is how you find out which one it is.
Do you look after salt pools on the beach side?
Yes, anywhere on our route. Near the Gulf the salt air also corrodes the pad from the outside, so on the beach side the equipment check that comes with every visit matters even more than the water test.
Can you repair or replace my salt system?
No. We clean and check the cell and keep the water right. If the cell or the control board has failed, we tell you what we found so you can get the right repair or replacement.
Ready to sort out your saltwater pools?
Tell us about your pool and we will give you a straight price and a start date, usually the same day you call.
